SMALL BOLD TITLE
DMAC machining provides Quality CMM Inspections, available in the customer’s choice 1 of 3 different level’s of inspection. Below explains the different levels of inspection that are available and what they entail.
INSPECTION AND CALIBRATION
A level 1 inspection includes inspecting all dimensional features on the customers drawing on the shop floor during (first article inspection)or after (sample inspection) production. Measuring instruments and gauges could include those marked for shop floor reference only. Actual measured values will be recorded.
1. Level 1 INSPECTION
A level 2 inspection includes level 1 inspection followed by inspecting all dimensional features on the customers drawing in the controlled inspection laboratory. Measuring instruments will be limited to devices and gauges with certified calibrations or regularly calibrated to certified gauges. Actual measured values will be recorded by hand on a dimensional report denoting method and device used. Ballooned drawings will accompany the dimensional report. This inspection may be during (first article inspection) or after (sample inspection) production, or both. Devices and gauges in the controlled inspection laboratory will be regularly calibrated to standard gauge blocks that will be annually certified by a third party qualified to perform such certifications.
2. Level 2 INSPECTION
3. Level 3 INSPECTION
A level 3 CMM inspection would include level 2 inspection followed by inspecting all dimension-ed features on the customers drawing primarily with a CMM in the controlled inspection lab per ISO standard methods. An ISO standard report of actual measured values via the CMM will be generated and a ballooned drawing will accompany the report. All features not dimension-ed specifically on the customers drawing will also be inspected with a CMM referencing the #D model, when applicable, per the block tolerances on the customers drawing. A report of the actual measured values of all non-dimension-ed featured can accompany the primary report. This inspection may be during (first article inspection) or after(sample inspection)production, or both. The CMM will be, at minimum, annually calibrated to NIST and ISO standards by a third party certified to perform such calibrations.
